Renewing British passport?

So I know you can either get the form from the passport of fill it out online. You then need to put your current passport and 2 photos in too. But I want to know if delivery charges apply? Like once I put the documents in the envelope can I just post it into the post box or do I have to go into the post office and pay for something?

It is not a post free envelope, you need to get it weighed and pay the cost of the stamp

You would need it weighed at the PO as it will cost more than a first class stamp.
