Mosul will be "liberated" in January 2017 after 3 months of bloodshed. Suicide bombings and sectarian violence will continue well into the 2020s.

Al-Raqqa, Syria will be "liberated" in Nov 2017.....that battle will be even longer and bloodier. Like Mosul, the terror will continue well into the 2020s

Things will settle down somewhat by 2030 after a hallmark UN resolution will set up green zone like areas to protect the cities along with NATO and Russian forces. Those cities will be fortified as f.
