C₁V₁ = C₂V₂
(0.400 M) × (87.0 mL) = (0.100 M) × V₂
Final volume, V₂ = 0.400 × 87.0 / 0.100 mL = 348 mL

Volume of water added = (348 - 87) mL = 261 mL
