will there be satellites 1 million years from now?

as I understand satellite orbits decay over time, and fuel sources are limited

Geosynchronous satellites are much higher and outside the atmosphere, so their orbits shouldn't decay, at least not in that time. I think. Objects in LEO are in tenuous atmosphere and will come down relatively quickly, though not in minutes as in scientifically-bad Hollywood moves (yeah, I'm looking at you, Alfonso Cuarón). Also, there are objects (though technically not satellites) in orbit around Lagrange points as well as in solar orbit, and they'll be there essentially forever.

RULE #1: Satellite orbits decay over time
RULE #2: Fuel source ARE limited

God knows

New ones. Almost all the current satellites will be down within 10 years.

Depends - if humans are still alive and making satellites, then yes. Otherwise they work for a few decades and drop from space
