Does the British Army have a sector that is dedicated purely to home defence?

I am considering joining the army as a reserve but I hate that we follow NATO's ridiculous foreign policy and send thousands of troops into conflicts that leave countries worse off. I want to serve my country but after seeing what happened with Iraq and Afghanistan, I don't think I want to be a part of this madness. Does the UK have something similar to America's National Guard?

Just want to clarify that I have the utmost respect for our servicemen and women. I just hate the conflicts that these brave souls fight in.

I have found that many people in the reserves are eager to serve on operations. It is the British
government who decides on Army deployment not NATO. It seems you want to join the army and
stay at home the answer to your question is No.
