As little as possible, which today in London, means £10. However, I am gradually wondering if I should become stylish and pay for a look as opposed to simply getting a trim. I don't go to hairdressers I go to barbers. Unless you get a cut in a cheaper part of the country/city, £10 is a good price when you consider a basic cut cost £5 30 years ago.

Hairdressers are way overpriced if you have short hair and a buzz cut. Hairdressers charge about £8 and it takes about 5 minutes. That's an hourly rate of £96. More than a qualified Doctor!!

Absolutely nothing. I bought a barbershop grade clipper in 2008. Became really fed up with the cost of monthly haircuts. I totalled it out a few years ago, it came to just over 2 grand I had saved (minus tips). Hairdressers charge extortionate amounts to cut hair and talk your ear off. They are head plumbers. Different for women of course
