The Note 7 is more common for exploding.
But the galaxy 7 has had a few cases of blowing up, because the battery's are the same but the galaxy 7 is smaller and isnt using as much energy as the note
So personally I wouldn't purchase a Samsung I'd buy a iPhone at least until samsung released a new phone

It's only affecting the Note 7. The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge have so issues at all and have even been a recommended must buy and phone of the year from Consumer Reports. The Note 7 is now discontinued indefinitely. So the Note 5 is now once again the newest Note you can buy. Samsung has a great track record for reliability actually. The Note 7 just happened to get a bad battery that can't easily be remedied. It seems to be a production quality issue at the battery plant.

But this is the first issue like this from Samsung in the last 10 years. And they produce tens of millions of phones. So once the Note 8 comes out next year in September the battery issue will be fixed. Samsung knows it can't have this issue again. The good news is that the next Galaxies really should have good quality batteries now that Samsung is aware of all these issues and can move on to fix them.

Samsung even makes batteries for a lot of the iPhones.

It's the Note 7 that has the issue. I don't believe that the S7 has that issue.
