Road conditions for a road trip from Houston to Death Valley in january?

I want to go on a roadtrip from Houston to Death Valley. Is that feasible? Will there be roads that are too icy?

From Houston you can take the south route for most of the way, certainly won't have any issues along I-10. Doubt you'll have any issues other than closer to Death Valley. If you go up and take I-40 there can be weather delays in OK, TX, NM and AZ at times.

They will be fine in Death Valley.

In general they should be okay but there can always be a snow storm. You'll have a lot better chances than if you were headed some where further north like San Francisco.
