兩者意思都一樣
Elderly 指年長者， Old people 比較屬於指向銀髮族

elder 指長者，前輩 (自稱就是後輩晚生)，比自己年長，不一定是LKK
the elderly 指上了年紀的人
old people 老人家

My elder brother is a jerk, but I respect him nonetheless.
