why cant metal be used in braggs law(electrons interference?)?

Atoms in a metal are bound by metallic bond, with the sharing of free electrons among the atoms. As such, metals are good electrical conductors.

In shooting an electron beam onto metal, the electrons from the beam interact with the free electrons from the bonding. No interference can occur.
