Are mirrored images what you look like in real life?

No. Everyone translates what their eyes transmit to them differently. What you feel about a person can influence what you see. If you hate a person, you are not going to be happy with her dress, wallpaper, choice of car, you name it. If you think a person is fantastic, they may wear the same as the other person but it looks great on them. If you are not liking yourself, you are not likely to see a beauty queen in the mirror. You may be a stunner to me and others but you won't see it just yet. Try liking yourself a bit more.

No, no one sees the same. All eyes are different and all the information is different that is interpreted within your brain. What the brain creates from this information looks different in each mind. Such as color, my green maybe purple to you and your orange maybe purple to me. So goes for all things we interpret. We see it in our heads, not for what it is. So, the mirror image is still your interpretation of it.

The trick is in asymmetry. Our faces aren't symmetrical, and so, it does matter and change looking at your "true" face or to its reflection. This happens to almost everybody; I see myself awful in photos and way better in the mirror, while general opinion is good about me. Humans have a very precise "software" for face analysis. The image you have about yourself is the one in the mirror, beacuse it is what you've seen most of your life, so when you see yourself in pictures, your brain feels that something is wrong.
