When someone texts "are you alive"? Texting etiquette?
Recently this has happened a few times. Literally the same situation but with different people. I just want an opinion on it.
I ask a friend to hang, they say they "can't today, lets tomorrow" eazy. done deal.
So my logic is that THEY will txt me tomorrow (why should I re-text since i initiated the lets hang...) They dont txt me the next day, so i assume they're still busy or something. I texted yesterday, i'm not gonna insist on hanging again today. They know im down to hang. If they wanted to, they would've texted... Anyways after days of no contact they then have the audacity to text me "are you alive?" "what u been up to" "havent heard from u" etc etc.. wtf i havent heard from u either..
I'm just asking if people are stupid or am i doing something wrong lol.
What's your texting etiquette?

I've never had that happen to me. I think you're just texting rude people- cause you're right, if they suggest to hang out another day, they should follow up on that and not expect you to. Maybe try calling them next time and see if that works out better?
(1st day)
A: Let's hang out today.
B: Can't today. Let's tomorrow
A: sounds good (you're not leaving this step out are you?)
(2nd day)
A or B: I'll be free any time after 3:00.Are we still hanging out today?
(now the person who sent this text can know it is the other person's turn to text)
(after a week of no texts)
B: are you alive
A: yes. I thought we were going to hang last week, what happened?
B: you never texted me
A: (after checking to see if this is true) that's weird. My phone says I texted you. So... do you still want to hang out?
Whose turn it is to text has nothing to do with who texted something first, and more to do with what was the last thing texted. If the last thing texted was along the lines of "I'm ready when you are" then it makes sense to wait on the other person, because maybe they are busy and will answer when they are less busy. But otherwise, either side can text next.
Sensible people text a reminder.
I avoid all doubt and confusion by talking to people. You should try it.
The worst part of texting...the text "emotion" can always be misunderstood. You might consider actually "talking" to someone. Just a thought.
Their stupid. i would text back " No, are you?"
