Stressed. My moms signature on the money order for the rent.?

Hey guys I'm seriously stressed out right now. My mom is staying with me for a little bit and she helped me out a little for the rent this month. The thing is she's not on the lease so her money order has her signature instead of mine and it's due today . I was wondering if it would still work? Or if I need to cash it somehow or something and re-do it. Thanks, seriously feel like ripping my hair out right now.

Sincerely,
-Caleb

Just because she is not on the lease does not mean she can't make a contribution to help you out. You shouldn't have to explain where it came from. Just tell them that your mom gave you some money towards rent because you were running short this month. No other need to explain. If they ask if she is living with you, then you can explain that it is a temporary thing and if need be, put her on the lease as a temporary roommate or a temporary guest.

It's fine. Memo should say caleb surname rent and abbrev address.

Even if this was a personal check, they wouldn't care whose name is on it. They just want the rent. You may want to double check that the landlord accepts money orders, though. There's been a lot of scams with these, and many landlords only accept cash, credit or bank check.

It will still work, as long as the landlord gets their money they will be happy

it might still work, just tell your landlord your mom is helping you out with the rent
