About a thousand dollars.. both you and your boy friend, because you don't want to eat food from the hotel, it's to expensive, it's way cheaper if you buy food outside for four days $100 each because meant want something fancy and you will be tempted, there is food everywhere. of course get an unlimited metro card, it will cost you $31 for local bus, but I will advice you to get the unlimited for express buses in case you visit Manhattan and you have a lot of places you will like to see, cost around $40-60. Shopping would be $200 each maybe more for your boyfriend cause men wear is more expensive. And the rest of the money would be in case anything goes wrong.

It really depends on what you're doing. You'll need money for food, transportation, admission to attractions, show tickets, shopping, etc. Without knowing what exactly you plan to do, it's hard to know how much money you need.

You cannot check into a hotel if you are not, even if someone else booked it for you. FORGET fake IDs - NYC and LV are the biggest experts in spotting them. If you booked a trip to NYC, and did this little research - then why come? Yes, there are tons of guides online to help you -but a lot of those things to do are NOT CHEAP - unless you just want to walk around and take pictures. There is little sense in coming to NYC unless you DO something that you cannot do anywhere else - like see a Broadway show, go to great museums, etc. You can eat decent sit-down meals cheaper on Restaurant Row - walk one block west form Times Square, at the Marriott Marquis. And there are a few hidden gems to eat at, in Times Square. Otherwise, the place most visitors go to are going to have either junk food, or even a sandwich will be higher than you are used to. I hope you enjoy your trip, but paying to stay in NYC and then not getting to DO anything is really a shame.
