There is no "Personality Disorder" disorder. There are 10 different personality disorders..... Borderline is one of them. There are also Schizotypal, Schizoid, Paranoid, Borderline, Narcissistic, Antisocial, Histrionic, Dependent, Obsessive Compulsive, Avoidant. Personality Disorder is simply a type of mental disorder..... Like Cancer is a type of illness but there are hundreds of different types of cancer.

When you take your personality disorder to the extreme, it touches the border or boundary line. It is what is called border-line personality disorder.
