Ok so im 17, and my dad got me a dog about 7 months ago and i do everything for him.. walk him, feed him, sleep with him, play with him and etc.. well i just got a job today that's 2-9... i go to school from 8-12... my brother goes to school in the evening so he'd be with him while i was gone, but do you think thats too long to be away from him? it's only for the week then im going to change my hours to 4-9.. but still, do you think it's unfair to my dog? he's 2-3ish years old.. x

No, if this is an adult dog & your schedule (while working) will be covered at least in part by your brother, so it should be okay for a week. You might look at trying to exercise him thoroughly, or in a more briskly walk or jog format, before you leave in the AM. (A tired dog is a better behaved dog, because he has no choice.)

As long as your brother is there to help, that's great! It's good to mess with your dog's schedule every once in a while. It makes them appreciate you more.
