😉 Bonjour, Hello
It's very rare when bulimic people replace the food by alcohol, since like you said, there are many calories in it and bulimic and anorexic people vomit just for remove the calories of their organism. See ?
Anyway bulimia and anorexia are only symptoms. They show that ' something ' happens in the unconscious of people. This something may be : a big anxiety, an unconscious conflict / problem, emotional one or all these things combined.
Nevertheless bulimia and anorexia can be cured with Psychoanalysis and with a Psychoanalysts only ( not a simple psychologists / therapist, nor a psychiatrist, as they don't deal with our unconscious, contrary to the psychoanalyst)..
Many people think they are expensive, in reality they are not, since they adapt their prices in accordance with the income of people. At least the serious ones who have been psychoanalyzed themselves. It is an very essential condition for be a Psychoanalyst and thus, be able to help other people, without risk to put ( project) on them their own emotional problems, unconscious conflits, perception of life, things, etc...
Anyway sometimes, Psychoanalysts recommend to people to go see a psychiatrist. That is for get a medication, when the anxiety is too strong. That is because of Psychoanalysts don't deliver medication.
◘ Note : a Psychoanalyst who would say : '' I didn't need to be psychoanalyzed '', is called a Scammer !
~~ Have a nice day ~~
Cat. •That's all

First of all, eating disorders are not just a female problem. Men have them, too, and men are more likely to have problems with alcoholism than women are.
Secondly, addiction is addiction, and overlaps with alcohol/drug addiction and eating disorders is VERY common. Addiction is not a rational thing. People who have an eating disorder AND problems with alcohol will forgo food calories in favor of alcohol calories because they feel it's easier to go without the the food than the alcohol. Eating disorders aren't a "diet," they are a serious mental health disorder, and anorexia specifically kills more people every year than depression, schizophrenia, or bipolar disorder.
