What is the best and worst insurance company for auto and home?

It's not that simple.

If there was really a worst, it wouldn't matter because that company would have gone out of business long ago. Nobody would ever sign up with the worst insurance company in the business.

If there was truly a best, you would also know it. Because they would be the only insurance company still in business.

None of them is best for everyone. None of them is worst for everyone. It is different for every person. They each have a different price for each person.

There are no best/worst companies. They are all regulated by the Dept. of Commerce. American Family has the option to match siding and roofing material "if you ask". Allstate doesn't, but Allstate offers a Platinum auto policy with unlimited accident forgiveness, safe driving bonus checks, vanishing deductible (if you ask for it). You will pay more for these added features, but the benefit may be worth the price if you have teenage drivers. Progressive offers a deductible savings account. Every term you are accident free, they will credit you $50 toward your deductible. It's not automatic, you must sign up for it. If you go to Geico online you will be offered the state minimum and no glass coverage, unless you personally change it. Figure out what you need, and call local agents in your area. It really is cheaper than DIY online, as they charge you extra to service your policy needs!
