what insurances you need to live on your own when you turn 18 in indiana?

If you are financing a vehicle, boat, home, etc. then you would be required to carry insurance to cover the physical damage(collision and comp on vehicle/boat/4-wheeler or dwelling coverage on a home).
If you are financing a home and you are in a higher risk flood area(which I doubt there are many in Indiana) then you would be required to carry flood insurance.
If you rent a residence and the landlord requires that you carry a certain amount of liability coverage then you could purchase a liability only policy however most would simply purchase a renters insurance policy since liability is covered in most instances(as long as it follows an ISO HO-4 form).
If you file taxes then you will be required to have health insurance or face a penalty otherwise.
Finally Indiana requires that you carry a minimum of 25/50/10 liability coverage for you to legally operate a vehicle.

Health insurance, in all cases.
Car insurance, if you have a car.
Homeowner's insurance is needed if you have a mortgage and a good idea if you own your home, even if you don't have a mortgage.
Renter's insurance is needed if your landlord requires it, and a good idea if you rent your home, even if your landlord doesn't require it.
You don't need any insurance, ever. If you decide to drive, go into business for yourself, need health insurance, buy a home, or decide to do anything that requires insurance coverage, then you'll need insurance.
You don't really need any insurance to live on your own. You should have car insurance if you drive, and you would pay a penalty during tax season if you do not have health insurance, but there are no requirements to have insurance to move it.
