If a person on SSI and Medicaid signs a DNR (Do Not Resuscitate)...

Can they lose their SSI and Medicaid, on the basis of Non-Compliance with SSI and Medicaid healthcare policy ?

Anyone on SSI can lose their benefit if they fail to cooperate with social security in processing anything. If disabled, for example, the SSI person MUST cooperate when they do a medical review. Also they do yearly redeterminations to make sure that the benefit amount is accurate and that it should be paid at all; they update the file in regards to income, resources and living arrangements.

SSI benefits can be ended if a person fails to cooperate, if their income and resources are too high given their living arrangements or a decision is made that they are no longer disabled.

So yes, they can lose SSI due to non-compliance with social security. If they lose their SSI; they lose their Medicaid as well.

Signing a DNR has nothing to do with it.
