think I witnessed a poltergeist or ghost?

okay so me and my 3 friends were out last night, near one of my friends houses and she lives directly opposite a graveyard. It was around 9pm but it was really dark as the late winter nights are coming in again and we were just gonna go in for a walk but two of my friends said they got bad vibes and didn't want to go in so me and the other friend walked in and stayed near the gate and after around 5 minutes a stone flew out of nowhere and landed in front of us, I can guarantee nobody was there it was late there was only a small amount of space then there was a huge wall which nobody could throw anything over and we had walked around the whole time (nobody was there) so we walked out and accused our other friends of playing a joke on us then we got them to walk away and we entered again this happened 2 more times ( 2 more stones landing out of nowhere) then the last time we got our other friends to come watch and it happened again and they were right beside us but they didn't hear

Somebody or some people were playing a prank on you. That is so easy to do as a joke, but it's a lame joke, because anyone would know what's really going on.

If you are afraid of ghosts the graveyard is the best place for you. Most of the bodies in there died several miles from the graveyard. The spirit of that person would have passed over, well away from the graveyard. Those spirits who have chosen to remain for reasons of their own would more than likely still be hanging around their earthly home and loved ones. They would not be interested in their rotting body. last time I scrapped my car, I never hung out at the scrap yard I went looking for a new one. The walls were not too big that a stone could not be thrown over. You can throw a stone over a jail wall if you wish. It was your pals trying to spook you.

Unless you actually saw where the stones originated from, I'm afraid to say it's jumping the gun to say it's paranormal. Always be careful when investigating graveyards or abandoned places

Doesn't *have* to be ghosts. There has been numerous instances of the last few hundred years where stones have fallen out of nowhere--- sometimes clear, cloudless, skies polished rocks have fallen. Some only over a certain particular place. But there has also been fish, birds, eels, and sometimes even money have materialized out of thin air. There's also the possibility that you may have been unconsciously responsible as poltergeists are not ghosts, but a type of telekinetic storm caused by living people-- usually teenagers, but also occasionally adults.

Maybe somebody is trying to tell you to stay out of cemeteries at night. ;-)

It doesn't matter whether it was your friends doing it or not, clearly someone was tossing stones at you. Unless you're going to insist it's impossible for other humans to be there too. Why leap to the most implausible conclusion? Because it's the one that matches your predisposition to be superstitious and believe in invisible supernatural creatures, despite the lack of evidence that they exist. And knowing that, you want to pretend that a banal, easily explainable event such as this is somehow evidence of the supernatural. It's not.
