What would happen if both the American presidential candidates were assassinated?

I'm not planning on killing anyone, but I grew up in Canada and last year moved here. I just wonder what would happen.

Then we would have to replace those candidates with others.

I suspect their political parties would have to replace them with others, which will not be worse that what options the American public are faced with with both of those people

There are no candidates according to the Constitution. We elected Electors; it is they who decide what to do.

They would probably have to create a new election, comprising of different candidates - maybe even the prior candidates from both parties this year.
