How do I become a Fashion Designer?

I already chose History, Business Studies and Psychology for my GCSEs since my parents are adamant about me becoming a lawyer or SOMETHING worthy enough to brag about to our relatives. However, I REALLY, REALLY want to be a Fashion Designer! What do I do? Can't I take some Law course in Uni and college and just wing it as a designer? Or do another course?

Pleasee helppp :)

If you want to be a designer (not a famous person who builds a brand around their famous name & hires "designers"), then you need to go to a fashion design institute. You need a portfolio of your work - your drawings of your designs & photos of the garments you made from your designs. Presumably you have taken art classes, design a lot of your own clothes, and you are an expert at sewing.

Take classes in business. Look up all the famous "designers" on Wiki. Almost all have degrees in business, and not fashion.

The alleged "designers" are almost always figure heads. Take "Dorothy Perkins", or "Robin Ruth". Niether exist. They are only trademarks. For the most oart "designers" are nothing but a marketing construct.
