Will a nutritionists really help me lose weight?

I'm trying to lose a lot of weight and my doctor recommended a nutritionists but will they really help me with the weight lose. I know they'll tell me what to eat but beside that

Dieticians have degrees. Anyone can call himself a nutritionist.

On the intellectual side of understanding what to eat and how much, yes. On the emotional side of having the strength or will or whatever to follow their advice, no. Nobody has a great answer for that second part, unfortunately.

They will help you learn how to eat properly. That will go a LONG way to helping you lose weight. Once you learn what a proper diet is, losing weight becomes somewhat easy.
