How old where u when you got your first tattoo?

I was 19, and I had been absolutely 100% positive about the placement and design for over a year. It means a lot to me, it represents the reasons I managed to beat depression and how I continue to fight it. Without the person who inspired it, I honestly don't know where, or IF, I would be today. The age you get a tattoo doesn't matter, I think, as long as you're mature enough to make the decision. I would much rather carry around something that meant the world to me when I was young than get something on a whim and regret it forever.

22. I wanted watercolor flowers on my back when I was 16 and waited until 18. Then, I decided to wait because I wasn't sure about watercolor anymore. Then, I decided I wanted a lotus flower on my thigh instead, so that my 100% sure idea for about 1 year, until I changed my mind again.

I ended up with baby's breath flowers on my foot and I'm so glad I waited to do it. I definitely would have regretted the first two ideas, even though I was so sure I wanted them at the time. You don't realize how much you change in just a couple of years of young adulthood.

Roundabout 19/20. On the one hand, I kinda regret it. I didn't take long enough deciding on the design. I don't hate it, but its not what I would have got if I hadn't rushed into it so quickly. Also, the tattoo artist, despite being 'reputable' was *not* very professional. My tattoo wasn't that well done, and at one point during it he even decided he would do it slightly different from the picture.
Second tattoo experience? Better in every way :)

I was 12 about to turn 13 soon. I got matching tattoos with my cousin and our "old friend". It's on my left side of my hand in between the palmar digital branches , $10 bucks at a house. And those $10 bucks were worth it because it hasn't faded or got ugly, still fresh. Compare to some classmate of mine who got theirs done a month ago and paid $35 at a SHOP faded and got ugly. Terrible .

17. I found a shop that didn't card. Looking back it was a bad decision. I got a religious tattoo because that was important to me at the time. I'm now an atheist but still don't regret it because it marks a time in my life that was important to me.

I was 24. Always wanted one. Finally bit the bullet and got it today.

I got mine the day before I turned 19.

I got a little treble clef bass clef heart just above my ankle. When I got it, I instantly wanted to get another one.

26, I picked some flash off the wall. It's still my favorite tattoo.

I was 21 I had been wanting a tattoo for a long time, so when my friend got hers I bit the bullet and finally decided to get my first one.

I was 20. I didn't really think it through. Its on the back of my neck. I kind of want to get rid of it or cover it, but I don't see it so its no big deal.
