Reported speech 忘記晒?

The reported speech is to provide information about ,give an account of, make something known to the Direct Speech "the host":-NB:-Change is needed when introductory verb is in past tense:------past--->past perfect------was------>had been.-------------------------------Change the pronoun into 3rd person in reported speech-------I------->he--------------------Adverb of time:------last year----------> previous year etc.----------------------"that" is used as connective in indirect statements.
The direct speech:-
Fred to the hostess:-"I was at your party last year"
Reported speech:-eg:-
Fred "reported" to the hostess that he" had been" at her party "the previous year"
He reported to say to her (hostess) that he (Fred) had been at her party last year, but hoped to let her reminiscent of the rendezvous with her boyfriend.

Fred told the hostess that he had been at her party the year before.

Fred told the hostess that he had been at her party in the previous year.
