Im 53, disabled,on section 8. I'm being evicted my landlord does not want 2 except HUD anymore. What happens if I cannot find a place?

I have looked and looked and asked on Craigslist and everyone I know and there is no one that will accept Section 8.. does anyone know the rules if I cannot find a place within 30 days will IB taking off HUD and be homeless? I have heard that if you can't find a place in a certain amount of time then you lose your voucher.. Does anyone know the laws to this?

Nobody is going to rent to you with an eviction on your record, especially so soon and especially on a section 8. You will have to accept the consequences of your actions and live on the streets. Start packing and sell everything you can. If you are not out when you should be, the sheriff or the police will drag you out, without your belongings.

You ask your case worker at the Housing Authority for the list of approved properties with vacancies. You can put an ad in your local newspaper for Housing Wanted or post one on Craigslist. Craigslist does not really have many that take Sec 8. You have 90 days to find another place but your case worker will help you. Check this website for properties, it is legitimate.

Why are you looking on Craigslist? You need to check the classifieds and speak with a realtor. Not to mention, is it legal for your landlord to evict you in such a fashion?
