What is this place near the JFK expressway?

It is almost like wilderness. Weeds grow tall on it and there is an big lake in there. It is near the JFK expressway in Queens.

Are you talking about the Belt Parkway or maybe the Nassau Expressway/Rockaway Blvd? The JFK Expressway is 2.5 miles long and runs through the middle of the airport.Rockaway Blvd runs through the marshland that is just to the east of the airport.
The Belt Pkwy also cuts through some marshy areas that are part of Gateway National Recreation Area.
