The denominators are

x^2 - 4 = (x-2)(x+2)

and

4x - 8 = 4(x-2)

so the least common denominator is

4(x-2)(x+2)

1/(x²-4) = 1/((x+2)(x-2)
1/(4x-8) = 1/(4(x-2))
LCD = 4(x-2)(x+2) = 4x²-16

Factor
1/(x - 2)(x + 2) & 1/(4(x - 2))

LCM is4(x - 2)
