Oils and greases must be changed to lighter weights in order to do their intended job.

In an Alaskan winter I have seen tires crack because the extreme cold made them brittle.

I have even seen pintile hook mountings crack and pull out of m-series bumpers when they were subject to too much stress.

You will need to put a 50-50 mxture of water and antifreeze in engines to keep them from freezing up. A 50-50 mixture provided maximum antifreezing protection. A cooling system "block heater" would be advisable so the engines will start during extreme cold.

You will need a supply of extra headlamps because extreme cold lowers the filament resistance causing extra surge current when first turned on.

Recommend your battery be surrounded with water pipe heating tape and then an insulating blanket. Batteries don't work very well in extreme cold.

One winter in Alaska while I was there there was a 10-day period where the warmest it got was 52 below zero.

We have done this from the start. For Alaska, Canada and Russia. It is mainly a matter of lubricants.
