What are some books that changed your life?

"The Decline and Fall of the Third Reich." Read it when I was 15, and I've hated Nazis ever since. "The Gulag Archipelago." This is a stunning book about the Soviet prison labor camps - made me permanently allergic to Marxist-Leninists. "The Lord of the Rings." This trilogy awakened my love of fantasy - I read it 9 times and once entirely out loud to my spouse as bedtime reading.
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
Once by Morris Gleitzman
both are set in the Holocaust period and are remarkable reads!
City of Thieves, great book sad ending based on a true story, over all its really good
1.) building nuclear reactors for dummies
(the cat next door became glow-in-the-dark after eating the mice that escaped from the barn I was experimenting in)
2.) 101 Hidden Treasures In The Netherlands
(the Damrak flooded because I tried to dig up Kapitein Versteeghen's treasurechest; hit a watermain)
3.) Reckoning with risk - Gigerenzer
( innumeracy in the medical world? Scary! And factual )
