I got my braces off today and my gums are swollen?

I finally got my braces off today after 5 years! But my gums are swollen and kind of hurt. They also bleed when my braces were taken off. But i do clean my teeth very well, brush them multiple times a day and floss when I could. It was hard to floss with braces. Is this normal?

Yes, entirely normal. The swelling will go down very soon.
