Did I get fired?

I told my job I needed a week off because I got into a car accident. They were okay with it. Then, I get an email titled "Review Documents for Terminate". I opened it and it was a document about how to apply for Unemployment Benefits.I tried to log into my WorkDay account, which is an account used for my job, and all of my documents are gone. It just shows terminated. I didn't actually receive a termination letter though. I don't get it.

You were terminated. You don't cal your job to tell them you are not working, you call them and REQUEST a leave of absence which may or may not be granted. If the leave is due to a medical issue or emergency, you need to provide them proof of such. By telling them you wouldn't be coming in because of an accident, they simply cut their losses and let you go.

better talk to FREE LEGAL AID at your local county courthouse to see what you can do......sure seems like it. I'll bet you never printed out the docs either. well, I hate to say it, but since people have gone crazy insane and have lost heir minds, there is no longer any common courtesy. employers are scared to tell anyone they're fired, they choose the wimpy way out of it, for fear you'd kill them or something.....just thank any local democratic representative for bringing in the communists.....the commies are writing the rules....hey somebody voted for these people, not me......

When I asked my boss if I can have a week off she told me I was lying. I told her I will provide her with documentation from my doctor. My boss then said it was okay but she never asked for them and I never had the chance to give it to her because I still was recovering that week and then I got the termination letter. I still have the doctors notes, and I have notes from three different doctors I was seeing. How can someone be so conniving?

Yes, you were fired. A termination letter is not required. Email is perfectly acceptable to notify you that you have been terminated.

Did you get written approval from your boss? Did you have a doctor's excuse? Or did you just call in and say that you wouldn't be in for a week. Unless you have something in writing showing that your leave was approved, you're pretty much screwed.

Get a letter from your doctor saying that you are medically unable to work.
Are you in the US? Does your employer have more than 50 employees?
If the answer is yes to *both* of those, you should be getting FMLA time off, as long as you have a doctor's letter.

If it's a small company and/or you are not in the US, you may be out of luck. Call the Human Resources office or your boss and find out.

Call your HR department and check to see if a mistake was made.

Call your work place and find out if they have fired you. If they have, they broke the law. If they refuse to do anything to right this wrong, get some legal help either with an attorney or legal aid.

I would talk to whomever you received permission from to be off.
