Why do people hate the F-35?

I don't know much ab planes at all but I saw a YouTube video about the f-35 and in the comments people were hating on it , why? I'd like to hear thoughts and opinions . thanks

The JSF-35 program with cost overruns has cost the taxpayers over 650 billion dollars and the aircraft isn't FMC. I have no idea why? The money could have went to combat proven platforms that are much cheaper like the Strike Eagle, Super Hornet, and Growler. I guess that makes too much sense.

A trillion dollar boondoggle. There is no enemy for that jet. Wars are not fought with jets like they were. It was over budget and took 15 years to get it operational and that is still questionable. It is a mess.

because the F-35 could be so much better
they ruined it when they decided one air frame could be used for 3 different aircraft
making the V-stol version is what killed it
adding to the width to be able to install the fans necessary for v-stol completely changed the aircraft from what it was supposed to be
from speed, to manueverability to stealth

Anti-military types hate new weapons. It is surprising that obama allowed the plane to be developed. It would be interesting to know if its development was restrained and it could have been completed years ago.
