Yes, but not by "eradication." Religious fundamentalism naturally erodes with exposure to history, logic, science, and physics... like mildew in the presence of sunlight. What is left is religion as tradition, mysticism, culture, and ethics. And that ain't bad

First you have to state what your definition of religious fundamentalism is.
It is different things to different people, you see.
Someone who knows the fundamental beliefs of their religious faith is a religious fundamentalist.
Someone who does not know the fundamental beliefs of their religion is liable to say and do lots of things that discredit their religion.

I suspect you really meant to say "Religious extremism needs to be eradicated" though that still leaves you with the same problem - you have to define what 'extremism' is. It's different things to different people. And (let's be honest) lots of people just so hate all religion, they want to stop freedom of religion, full stop. Religious fascists abound these days, and they are often the ones shouting most loudly for their idea of 'fundamentalism' to be stamped on. There are plenty of anti-religion fundamentalists active today. So, I disagree.
