Worrying about teeth stains is the very least of what you should be actually worrying about. Smoke that fills your lungs, leaves behind tar and nicotine are a bigger concern. Both tar and nicotine have been proven to cause cancer.

Someone has to tell you that smoking is stupid, regardless of your braces.

This is a question for your orthodontist. Some appliances are simple enough so that it shouldn't make a difference. Other systems could cause your teeth to be permanently striped with tobacco stains.

Whatever, you'll have to do extra-special cleaning.

It is just weird to smoke at all. One of the top 3 worst habits anyone could start. You smoke every once in a while and it turns into a forever habit.

Yes, it looks weird. Second, it's a carcinogen and a health hazard. Third, it's costly. Fourth, all the money for dental work (in the thousands) and ruin your teeth even more with the staining and smoker's teeth you will develop..what a waste.

With all the negatives about smoking, it is weird to smoke, whether you have braces or not.

No it's not, and don't let these alarmists scare you. I've smoked for 40 years, and I have nice white teeth, no cancer, no emphysema, nothing. My grandmother chain smoked unfiltered Pall Malls all her life and lived to be 95, and didn't die of smoking related illness.

What in the world could possibly make you wonder if it might be "weird" to smoke if you wear braces? What would be "weird" about it? If you can eat with braces on; you can smoke with braces on.
