About a month ago I was driving home from school when a guy on the side of the road threw a trashcan at my truck as I passed by. I stopped (since he hit the side of my truck), and he proceeded to come up to my window, screaming at me claiming that I "speed by everyday", and that if he ever sees me again he's going to "slap the **** out of me" and was constantly spitting on me. At one point I pulled out my phone to call the police and he reached into my truck to try to pull it out of my hands, but I had a tighter grip.
Since I have a dashcam in my vehicle, I posted the video on YouTube, where it blew up with nearly 50,000 views since then. A day after the incident, I had sent an anonymous tip online to my local PD explaining where the incident occurred, and giving the link to the dashcam video.
The individual had said their full name on camera, and so I figured it wouldn't be hard for police to track him down. However, I haven't heard anything back from police.
A viewer on the video was able to leak his information, and gave out his phone number, address, and relatives names.
On video he even brags about how he did it to 3 other people that day. What can I do for further action to be taken? I don't want to press charges, but I at least wanted the individual held responsible for his actions.
Also my dashcam proved that I was doing 28MPH in a 25... So not really speeding. Nor have I ever sped down that road, which I do take daily.
