Question about a road rage attack?

About a month ago I was driving home from school when a guy on the side of the road threw a trashcan at my truck as I passed by. I stopped (since he hit the side of my truck), and he proceeded to come up to my window, screaming at me claiming that I "speed by everyday", and that if he ever sees me again he's going to "slap the **** out of me" and was constantly spitting on me. At one point I pulled out my phone to call the police and he reached into my truck to try to pull it out of my hands, but I had a tighter grip.

Since I have a dashcam in my vehicle, I posted the video on YouTube, where it blew up with nearly 50,000 views since then. A day after the incident, I had sent an anonymous tip online to my local PD explaining where the incident occurred, and giving the link to the dashcam video.

The individual had said their full name on camera, and so I figured it wouldn't be hard for police to track him down. However, I haven't heard anything back from police.

A viewer on the video was able to leak his information, and gave out his phone number, address, and relatives names.

On video he even brags about how he did it to 3 other people that day. What can I do for further action to be taken? I don't want to press charges, but I at least wanted the individual held responsible for his actions.

Also my dashcam proved that I was doing 28MPH in a 25... So not really speeding. Nor have I ever sped down that road, which I do take daily.

You sent an anonymous tip to the police. How would you expect to hear back from them if your tip was made anonymously?

" I don't want to press charges," - Then there is nothing to do. No way to hold him responsible other than that.
"Also my dashcam proved that I was doing 28MPH in a 25... So not really speeding" - Yeah, that's really speeding.

I don't want to press charges, but I at least wanted the individual held responsible for his actions.

Under ANY set of facts, one of those statements is DEAD WRONG. You can't do ANYTHING else, and you WON'T hear any more from the authorities unless you are needed to testify in court at trial. Assuming HALF of what you say is in the recording, there won't be a trail, because he will accept a plea bargain when shown the recording.

You were speeding, if it is 25 and you were going 28 then you are breaking the law and speeding! you should have just kept going, he could have had a gun, or knife or anything for all you knew.Unless you press charges the police can do nothing, avoid that street for a while, and keep under the speed limit in future!
