Atheists: If you believe religion is BS, then what's the point of being friends with people that believe in God?

Shunning people for having different beliefs or opinions is what religious people do.

Religion is BS, people are not. Why can't you comprehend such simple things?

Not all theists sit around talking about religion all the time- I've never known one personally that did, although I've seen them in public places.

I can be friends with someone and not agree with their beliefs. I guarantee all of your friends do not share your same beliefs.

They're still very nice people. Religion doesn't matter, not nearly as much as friends do.

That depends on how obsessive and fundamentalists they are with their delusion.
Normal, casual and respectful people could have enough in common on other topics to things could be OK.
But a bible thumper? Someone who insists that the world is 6000 year old, and was covered with a flood went above the tallest mountain and that all the species that exists today were on a wooden boat for over a year? I cannot be friend with people that stupid.

Because I have helped quite a few friends out of their God delusion.

Because they are every where!!! AND AS FRIENDS THEY ARE AWESOME, EVEN JUST BELIEVING THAT I AM AN ATHEIST!!! THEY DO MOST SAME THINGS THAT I DO BUT WHEN THEY GO TO PRAY I GO AWAY, NO PROBLEM!!!

I am not friends with people who believe in a fictional character they call "god". If they think they are friends with me, it's a false friendship.

First of all I don't believe in the gods hence their religions bare no significance in my life. What and who others choose to believe or worship is "their" choice also baring only the significance in my life that "I" choose to give it. Theists should learn this and practice it!

There are other things to discuss besides religion.

Imperfect, deficient, or oddly colorful people are not bad luck, sources of misfortune, or bad friends.

To think so is superstition. Does empirical evidence not show that?

Fundies are the ones who hate anyone unlike them, we who have functional brain cells know what is real.
