I do not know what he is... but he is NOT of The True Christian Faith... that is for certain.... so... No, I think the Pope has been very wise and very careful to note the broad common ground between Islam and Catholicism, and has reached out to the Muslim world, and invited Muslim religious leaders to visit the Vatican, for example.

That is precisely why ISIL (or Daesh) hate the Pope and are currently attacking Catholic clergy. They don't want to see a rapprochement between modern Muslims and the Catholics.
