Hello everyone, I a Catholic Christian and I would like to know if is it a sin for a Christian to watch a teenager serie about mermaids? Everyone is welcome to share your opinion, but If you are Christian I would like to see what do you guys think about it too.
Why would watching a fantasy series by a sin? Certainly isn't one in Catholicism. There is nothing evil about that show, I've watched it myself many times.
I cannot grant grasp your problem. If you believe in the Christian (Catholic version) myth, believe the collective works of fiction called the Bible, believe in the stories of what Catholics call the Tradition, why you would see anything wrong with watching a fictional TV programme.
As an ex-Catholic I can tell you what sin a priest would tell you that you were committing and it is called scrupulosity.
Mako: Island of Secrets is an Australian television programme for children and teenagers. Internationally released as Mako Mermaids, the show is a spin-off of H2O: Just Add Water and is produced by Jonathan M. Shiff in association with Network Ten and Nickelodeon.
The series follows Zac, a teenage boy who turns into a merman after accidentally falling into a magical pool of water on the fictional island of Mako.

We see nothing there that should attract a Christian. But if it takes you even one step away from God then you best ditch it. You won't see it in heaven for certain.
