I think "92.3 carbon" should be "92.3% carbon" instead.

Mole ratio C : H
= 92.3/12.0 : (100-92.3)/1.0
= 7.69 : 7.7
≈ 1 : 1

The empirical formula of the hydrocarbon = CH
Then, let (CH)ₓ be the molecular formula.

Relative molecular mass of the hydrocarbon :
(12.0 + 1.0) x = 39 × 2
13.0x = 78
x = 6

Hence, molecular formula of the hydrocarbon = C₆H₆
