How can i cook popcorn in my new microwave?

Everything else i cook in the microwave works perfectly fine. But when i cook popcorn it flickers and make weird noises. Is there any other way to cook it in thr microwave or can i fix the problem?

1. YOU CANNOT USE METAL IN A MICROWAVE you will destroy it.
2. Easiest to buy popcorn made to be popped in a microwave.
3. There are corn poppers made to be used in microwaves p try stores like Bed Bath and Beyond.

check on the popcorn package the instructions it should tell you how much time its supposed to spend in the microwave

Yes you can. It comes in paper bags and has the fat and seasoning already in the package. What you cannot do with most microwaves is have any metal in the oven. If you are trying to pop corn in an aluminum pan, don't try any more. It will mess up your wave. Also, no aluminum or tin coatings on paper bags.

Are you using microwave safe popcorn. If not then that's your problem. Most popcorn needs to be cooked in oil on the stove.
