Could I afford to move to Hawaii in the future?
I would absolutely love to move to Hawaii and I understand that people don t just go to the beach everyday. I currently live in Texas and plan to get my nursing degree and certifications to become a neonatal nurse practitioner on the mainland. If I have a job, housing and money lined up would I make it financially? Also which city would be better in your opinion: Honolulu, Hilo, Kailua, Kaneohe, or Waipahu?

Now, if you're going to move to Hawaii, I advise you take the cheapest airline. Who cares if its not a luxurious trip? Better to save money. I haven't looked but I know that taking a plane from New York to Greece, it was under 1,000. So I'm going to guess it will be even cheaper. As for housing, I hear its expensive over there. Nurses make a lot of money, so you should have no problem if you save up. I will say rent is over 1,000, so buying a home will most likely be VERY expensive. Just a heads up.
Honolulu has it all. Learn this place with this particular hotelbye little help. Honolulu is the home of some of Hawaii's many historic places. From Iolani Palace, the Kawaiahao Church, the Hawaiian Mission Houses Historic Site and Archive and the valued artefacts of the Bishop Museum to legendary landmarks like the Aloha Tower, the King Kamehameha I Statue, the Duke Kahanamoku Statue and the historic Hawaii Theatre, Honolulu has, certainly, plenty of fascinating places. Honolulu can also be the Hawaii's hot spot for arts, lifestyle and entertainment. One of many areas you can't miss from your own holydays in Honolulu is Waikiki, the main beach location of most persons maneuvering to Honolulu and the island of Oahu. This region is noted for its large crescent formed beach, wherever readers arrive at lay out in the sun, swim, and learn how to surf.
I talked to a lady who lives in Honolulu this past weekend. She lives in Honolulu and she said that it was so expensive there that she probably could never retire because she need to keep working to live there. I think the big island is the cheapest.
Everything in Hawaii is expensive since it is shipped in. They have a major homeless problem so make sure you have enough income to live not just pay rent. Look at rent and other expenses before you go, find out the price of basic food like milk to see if you can afford to eat there. Most are shocked at the prices of food.
