Community colleges offer many different programs. If you have no plans to transfer to a four year university to complete a Bachelor degree, then do not take a transfer program, do not get an Associate degree in General studies.
See what two year career programs your CC offers. For example you can do a two year program as a Phamracy Tech and be working after you finish

Depends on the college. If they offer an Associates degree in the area that you want to study, then you will not have to transfer. Most community college do offer Associates in the most common areas of study. They may not offer a bachelors degree, and normally do not offer anything beyond a bachelors.

As each college is different, only the college can answer the question about whether they offer the specific degree that you want.

Most people who go to a community college do not end up transferring elsewhere.
