How can I start reading a lot of books again? I used to read A LOT and now I don't because of distractions such as the internet/tv shows and all that. I just really want to be able to read like I used to because it also affected my writing. I write and my writing used to be so much better back when I used to read more frequently.

I used to read a lot, but lately I've been lazy and unmotivated. The only way to change that is:

1. get books
2. read them

-Make a booklist of books you may be interested in.
-Go get the books from a library or bookstore.
-Ease back into it. If you find a 200+ page book that you seems fitting for you, work your way up and keep reading 😉

I'm the same way. I work a full time job, write in my spare time and have an active social life. How do you make more time? I usually try to set aside a day or two for reading at least an hour or so each week. No matter what, that's what I do. I also cut out video games and other distractions (like anime and manga) to keep my writing up. It's tough but totally worth it. I've also found that having my smart phone within arms reach is a distraction. When reading or writing, I'll quiet often turn it off. Also I don't read by my computer anymore. I go outside or to Starbuck's with my iPod to read. That way I'm out of the house and not being distracted.

I don't know what to tell you about this.

Read in bed before going to sleep, instead of tv or facebook stuff. Fall asleep with a book next to you, your dreams will be awesome!

Go to a used bookstore and look for some books and buy a few. Also, go to the library. This way you have a buildup

If I could send you some old copies of my books, paperbacks like Conjectures and Refutations or
The Open Society and its Enemies (2 book-parts), I would.

Also try the possible easier read called In search of a better world, all by one great writer....

Let someone sell you a book and get into it. Then do that until its a habit to read.

For instance, youtube Jocko Willink and his book Extreme Ownership

I suggest Mein Kampf. It was inspirational.
