why r kids so comfortable with me?

i am 15 yr old boy and in 11th grade. i actually wave my hands and smile at kindergarten to 5th grade boys. even they wave back and smile. i even show them yo! and even they show. is it because i dont have beard? i really see kids smiling at me. i actually get scared of my seniors (12th graders) because they have full grown beards
