Please read! How can I get my parents to trust my online Indian friend?

Ok, so about a little over a week ago, this 17 year old guy from India became friends with me on Facebook. I'm also 17. This happened during the time of the break up of me and my boyfriend, and he has helped me through the sadness to the point I don't even feel sad anymore. But the problem is, my parents don't trust him because he's Indian, and my mom thinks he's a terrorist. I mean seriously?!?! He goes to university, he knows 7 languages, and he's Hindu! He's a sweetheart and he's very caring and understanding and he knows what I've been through. Him and I don't want a relationship, plus we both love our single life. We've just become best friends, and my parents want me to stop talking to him! How do I convince them that he's a good and caring guy, and how can I get them to like him? Oh and he says he's working extra hard in university to the U.S. to meet me, and my parents hate that idea! How can I make them believe he's a good person?

I think you should just stop trying to, it sounds like you're shoving him down their throats.

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but you're being naive. Not everyone online is who they say they are...For all you know, he could be a 45 year old pedophile with 6 wives. Ask him to send you a picture of himself holding a piece of paper with your name written on it.
Even if he is who he says it is, you don't really know this guy, you just know what he's told you over a computer screen. You should take safety precautions if and when meeting up with him. Your parents are just looking out for you.

Why do you have to tell your parents about every, last one of your friends? You can't force your parents to like or trust someone they don't know at all.
Lots of times, people from other countries befriend females in the USA so they can worm their way into their lives... just to become citizens (marriage).
You don't "know" this guy really. I see no issue being online friends, though.

India is a vast country and there are various kinds of people there ... your parents need to understand Indian geography and different states ..I don't suggest u to accept him if he is south Indian... There are good looking Hindus in India who left their huge houses in sindh ,Pakistan because they did not want to convert and eat even animals ..Hindus are vegetarian so how would they kill anybody ...south Indians are ugly and eat meat and the the the disgusting people ..south India is Tamil nadu ,Kerala ,andhra Pradesh ..these people are ugliest and show discrimination to north Indians rather they should be discriminated
