Boat seat problems!!?

Okay so me and my dad are redoing his boat together and he took it out of storage and we found that the seats are totally wrecked. The vinly is ripped and the foam has mold. I was wondering how I should fix the seats, should I just sew them back or is there a way where I can put new vinly on them myself. Or should I just get it done by a professional?i tried to put a photo in but it didn't work, Thanks also I don't know what year his boat is but it is a Larson boat.

Can you completely remove each cushion without causing additional damage? If you can, a person can use the damaged original cushions to make patterns and get specs for replacement cushions.

What you need to be able to determine is the exact size (width, depth, height) of the original cushions and the density of the original foam used--a block of it that's not moldy can come with you to a store that sells foam, where you can do a comparison squeeze.

JoAnn Fabrics sells foam in several densities. They also have coupons on an app and in the paper, so you can probably get a discount from full price.

You can buy new foam and new vinyl and make new cushions if you have a sewing machine, or pay someone else to do it. Cushions are fairly simple sewing. If I were making them for a boat, I'd be wrapping the foam in plastic sheeting underneath the vinyl, so any water getting in the seams or through small tears if they occur will not ruin it.

You should either get new seats, or if u can't do that...get rid of the mold then buy new vinyl and sew it.
