Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 crop tool?

HELP!! Crop tool is stuck on a diagonal adjustment only, cannot crop landscape or portrait positions??? It's killing me!!

You probably have it set to keep the crop at a specified aspect ratio. Clear those numbers and all should be well.
