Calculate the heat involved when 74.6g of SO2 (molar mass = 64.07g/mol) is converted to SO3.

Thermochemical reaction:
SO2(g) + ½O2(g) → SO3(g)
∆H = -99.1kJ/mol

✔ 最佳答案
SO₂(g) + (1/2)O₂(g) → SO₃(g) .... ΔH = -99.1 kJ
The conversion of 64.07 g (1 mole) of SO₂ to SO₃ involves -99.1 kJ of heat.

Heat involved when 74.6 g of SO₂ in converted to SO₃
= (-99.1 kJ) × (74.6/64.07)
= 115 kJ
